Drops® are a new way to enhance drum tone without gels or adhesives. Using only gravity, Drops reduce sustain with an active gate effect that lets the drum's natural tone come through upon impact. Use Drops on snares, rack toms and floor toms. Mix and match different weights to get your drum tone just right. Drops attach to any standard tension rod by a molded silicon tab. Just push on the thumbprint to attach, and pull up to remove. Designed by Tandem Drums in California. (Patents pending)

I was looking for alternatives for gels. The adhesives on gels just doesn't last long. After a few drumming sessions they simply fly off. Drops,however, never fall. They are secure on the tension rods, no adhesive residue, and most importantly, gives solid snare sound. I like a tight and high muted sound, so I apply two 120g after tuning the snare tightly high. A single 120g sounds great but two were excellent for my taste. Drops are a no brainer...never again, gels. I like they are easily removable and I can apply to my other drumming gear without worrying about adhesive. Lastly, they just look clean and minimalistic...they complement my kit nicely...it doesnt try to steal the show with some cheap colors or design. Minimalistic and clean.
Get some. I got 120 for test and all size drums, may get 60's also for small toms.

These work fairly well.
We didn't want to use those rubber dampeners you stick on the heads. This seems like an easier way to adjust, and pop on and off. We grabbed two for our snare. One was really enough, but good to have the backup. Our snare was ringing a bit to much and this took care of it.
