About
Drops® are a new way to enhance drum tone without gels or adhesives. Using only gravity, Drops reduce sustain with an active gate effect that lets the drum's natural tone come through upon impact. Use Drops on snares, rack toms and floor toms. Mix and match different weights to get your drum tone just right. Drops attach to any standard tension rod by a molded silicon tab. Just push on the thumbprint to attach, and pull up to remove. Designed by Tandem Drums in California. (Patents pending)

This looked like a simple breakthrough product and I was very excited and hopeful to try out. I purchased a single 120 and 4 x 60s.
I ripped open the paper packaging like a kid at Christmas and ran to my kit. I removed all of the remo plastic rings on snare and toms and played “raw” for a bit to get the baseline sound in my head.
Put the new drops on the snare and toms which is just as easy as it looks in the advertising! Started to play and didn’t really notice much if any difference. Switched the 120 from floor tom to snare, still no real difference on floor tom and not much on snare. Put the remo plastic rings back on and realized how good they sound. So… if someone tells me I am using these wrong , I might believe them but this is not a complicated device. Push connecter on to a tuning peg, rest the drop on drum head, play. They either do nothing or not enough to notice. Wish I hadn’t shreaded the packaging like a rabid racoon otherwise would ask to return them for a refund.
Helped the resonance somewhat. Seemed like there should be different weights and diameters for different drums!
