I’ve used everything imaginable to damp my drums. Everything from folded tissue paper attached to the head with tape, an open wallet hanging over the rim, plastic rings, and moon gel. I like my drums to ring a bit, so I chose the 40g drop for my snare, and the 60g drops for my 14” & 16” toms. Perfect! I’ll never use anything else again. The drops do exactly what they’re intended to do. Highly recommended!!!
So far, I am loving my drops! I got the 60 g and it seems perfect so far for the sound I’m going for, looking forward to experimenting with the other weights.
I've been using gels as long as I can remember. Took a chance on buying Drops and I could hear the difference on the first hit. Every drum sounded better. You get more of the drum sound with a little more resonance, but no overtone.
Bought a set for my home kit to check them out. Put them on...played a little bit and immediately went to my computer and ordered a set for gigging kit. Love finding cool new ways to improve my drum sound.
This is the second set of Drops I’ve purchased. The first set was used on the drum kit at Church and they work perfectly! Would definitely recommend.
