60g on Floor Toms

Used one 60g on 14", and one 40g and one 60g on a 16". Just enough to dampen the resonance a touch. Easy with nice results.

Taming a set of Roto Toms

Wide open roto toms are a bear to tone down! In small rooms they can be a bit much. The kit I'm using is a rental I send out to "open jams" and these DROPS are PERFECT!

Perfect for controlling volume / sound ESPECIALLY if recording in a small studio like I do, or are playing live in settings where a ton of volume isn't demanded.

The advertising IS legit. They're easier to use and better sounding than gels, but also don't kill everything the way a full-cover muffler does (especially attack). They've worked for me in different tuning scenarios, and I've used em on snare (metal & wood), rack, and floor toms.

I’m not a drummer, but I record them in my garage

I’m the bassist/sound engineer for my wife’s band. I record all our rehearsals and gigs. Drum sound before Tandem mutes was very good. (I’m a really good soundman.) Taming the resonant decay brings another level of clarity and “studio-like” finesse to the drums. I love the flexibility and cleanliness of the Tandem mutes. No regrets on this purchase

Compatibility

The T-towels mounting system is currently NOT compatible with the following:

  • Wood hoops
  • Vintage oversized (round slotted) tension rods found on some Sonor kits

We hope to support these in the future ✌️

T-towels provide an average 2.6 dB reduction in volume across the drum kit in studio audio testing.
