What's included
One 40g Drop and one 60g Drop (2pcs total). These smaller weights are ideal for rack toms 8"-12", as well as snare drums. Tip: try doubling up lighter weights on the snare, too.
About
Drops® are a new way to enhance drum tone without gels or adhesives. Using only gravity, Drops reduce sustain with an active gate effect that lets the drum's natural tone come through upon impact. Use Drops on snares, rack toms and floor toms. Mix and match different weights to get your drum tone just right. Drops attach to any standard tension rod by a molded silicon tab. The drop does not work on my floor tom. I used the large one and the medium, but still doesn't work well!
It does the job. Nice sound
I got this for free with my purchase because I bought the bundle. This is a nice little addition. I have larger toms, so I didn't use it very much, but I could totally see it being used on smaller drums.
Overall, I think these are such a great product. I just prefer using the heavier drops like the 120g and 200g
Perfect dampener for most situations, just removing the extra hum without making the drum sound dead. It keeps your toms and snare lively while removing the extra sustain and overtone.
I have used mine on a 12” snare, 8”, 10”, and 12” toms, and found them best in that range. The perfect companion for the Tama Club Jam kit!
These really do not work well at all. Honestly no real difference with them on or off even doubled up. Nothing works as well at the 14" rimgs.
