What's included
A set of all four Drops® (4 pcs total), one of each weight: 40g / 60g / 120g / 200g, along with the new Drum fx accessory bag to keep your Drops organized and protected on the go. One and done! Try using the smaller weights (40g / 60g) on rack toms 8"-12". Try the larger weights (120g / 200g) on floor toms 13"-18". For snare drums, all weights provide great options. Tip: try doubling up heavier weights on floor toms, and doubling up lighter weights on the snare.
About
Drops® are a new way to enhance drum tone without gels or adhesives. Using only gravity, Drops reduce sustain with an active gate effect that lets the drum's natural tone come through upon impact. Use Drops on snares, rack toms and floor toms. Mix and match different weights to get your drum tone just right. Drops attach to any standard tension rod by a molded silicon tab. Just push on the thumbprint to attach, and pull up to remove. The Drum fx accessory bag included in this bundle is built from reinforced vinyl, trimmed with durable YKK® zipper hardware, and sized to fit two full sets of Drops while still slipping inside a cymbal bag or snare bag. These are perfect for my 5-piece in the basement where we rehearse, where I want a nice punch yet a quick decay. These are the ones! Great travel case, too, to keep them all together and very easy to put back on the tension head. Love them!
This is a highly practical product. I believe it delivers the best performance for its price among all the muting products released to date. I have purchased four sets myself. It is immensely helpful for discovering one's own signature sound and is an excellent tool for studio recording as well.
did not work for me at all........back to the drops I go
These are absolutely worth the money. So far, I have only had to use the 200g model on my 16" and 18" floor toms, and the resulting sound is phenomenal. These suppress the unwanted overtones, but do not choke the drum. I am also impressed with the mounting system. It stays on the lug without issue, even when the drum is flipped over to remove the legs before putting them in a case. I am very impressed!
These are the best drum overtone dampening devices I have ever used, so glad you guys invented something so simple that doesn't involve tape or sticky gummies that just attract all the little wood chips from your sticks!! I am still playing with different weights to get the perfect tone, so will be buying more!!
