Perfect tone starts here.
Our mission
Tandem Drums started with a simple belief: great sounding drums make great songs. You can put in the hours and master your chops, but if the drums don’t sound right, neither will the music.
Whether you're a drummer or producer, perfect drum tone shouldn’t be a mystery. Tandem products are designed so tone just happens, letting artists focus on creativity, not rigging up DIY fixes. When your gear gets out of the way, the music hits different.
Rooted in California, we create purpose-built tools that fuse modern engineering with time-tested tradition. For us, it's not about reinventing old ideas—it's about perfecting them. Every drummer brings something different to the table. Our mission is to help you sound perfect.

Let customers speak for us
from 657 reviewsAmazing... it arrived on time. The package was damaged and the extra 200 i ordered was missing and the package was soaking wet. So was the receipt n paperwork. I reached out to the company and they replaced the missing 200. Clearly it was no fault of theirs but they were all to willing to help me. I hope FEDEX makes it right with them because tandem took care of me, and they were never at fault. But it is so greatly appreciated! I will be ordering more products from them. They work amazing! Very noticeable sound quality and simple to use! Thank you so much! 🤙🏽
I am genuinely so happy with my drops. I plan on buying more to play around with having multiple on my toms and eventually buying the towels too!
Purchased the 16" T-Towel. I love it on my snare for that 70's fat snare sound! I also use it on my floor tom for that deep thud!! Love my T-Towel!!!
Between the drops and the towels, I can adjust the sound of my kit to any venue we play.
The drops are the main go-to especially since we mostly play outdoor gigs over the summer. Going inside for winter gigs will be perfect for trying out the towels in a live setting.
Initial use has been in my house with my practice kit and I love the sound. The band also practices here so I can here so I can control the volume easier with the towels. PLUS, they make the drums sound pretty cool.
We just finished a tracking session with the tea towels on the rack tom and floor tom they put the energy of the toms exactly where they needed to be
Great tone and character!
They really give my drums the sounds I remember as a kid in the '60 where I had to cut up sheets to make something like T-Towels to get that sound. I bought the bundle plus an extra 16" because I have 3 toms., so I would suggest they should offer a bundle for that as well. They are very well made, stay in place, and because wlhen you fold them the magnets hold them in place as well when you're playing. It's also easy switch between T-Towels and Drops.
a little fold and drop. just what is needrd yo take edge off.!
I run a small studio on Bainbridge Island. I like the drops a lot. I went for the T-towels and so far they are super cool. They have a really pleasant, addictive sounding attack - really fat and full, while still retaining the essence of your kit. The pitch drops a bit, which I like. You can still hear a bend - even when the drum is completely covered. But start peeling the towels back and clipping them with the magnet, and you get so much tonal variety. I own custom Mlasko maple shells, and they are amazing. So that’s a nice place to start. Heads were turning when I started playing with them on - they sound really, really good. Stick bounce is good - I can still do doubles and drags, etc - they have a great feel. It’s early days still - it remains to be seen how they will hold up. There are stick marks on the material now, after a few days of playing, and given how soft and supple they are, I am a little concerned they won’t hold up for the long haul, but so far so good and I have not yet heard any method I know of that sounds as good as these do. So if they last decently long enough, I will likely re-purchase them because I run a working studio and these are gonna be part of my drum tones for sure. Pro tip - for the fattest snare tone you ever heard, put a T-towel over your Big Fat Snare head cover. Wow.
I purchased the original Tandem dampening system and it was good, but these T-towels are completely AMAZING! Once I placed the towels on each of our drums the sound they produced was deep and rich with just enough ring and overtones to make everyone in the room stop and look at the drums with awe and wonder and the amazing sound the T-towels produced. Thank you Ringo, and thank you Tandem.
Great product. Quality and practical. I’m thankful for the variety of products offered for different situations.
These work great ! Way better than using gels that dampen the drums too much. Like little gates on the drums !
