Drops buying guide

Drops buying guide

One of the most common questions we get here at HQ is "Which Drops should I get?" We've compiled some best practices here to help you make the switch to Drops successfully. Enjoy!

1 » Generally, the Set of 4 Drops is the best product to start with. This will give you some options to play around with. And options are good. It's the perfect starter for a 4-or-5-piece kit.

2 » Use the lighter weights (40g/60g) on rack toms 8"-12".

3 » Use the heavier weights (120g/200g) on floor toms 13"-18".

4 » Try doubling up multiple Drops for a more aggressive muffling effect.

5 » Consider keeping a set of Drops in your cymbal or stick bag. The 2x4 combo here gives you one set for home, and one for on-the-go.

6 » For inspiration, take a look at how some of the top drummers out there are using Drops. We repost their videos on our Instagram reel here.

7 » Note that Drops are currently not compatible with most wood hoops, or those oversized slotted tension rod heads found on some vintage Sonor kits. So just make sure your kit uses standard square-head tension rods (the kind you tune with a standard drum key).

Still got questions? Drop us a note and we'll be happy to help.
